ECAS DEVICES

Water purification in ECAS devices is based on oxidizing and reducing processes, after which all of the toxic elements are destroyed. In ECAS devices, natural processes of oxidation and reduction are accelerated manyfold due to direct electrochemical reactions. In addition to that, the process of purification progresses with the help of substances that are contained in unpurified water.

Common ways of water purification (sorption filtration, reverse osmosis) have a number of disadvantages. The general drawback is that they not only purify the water from toxic impurities, but also deprive it of healthy calcium, magnesium and fluorine.

The electric processor of ECAS is able to destroy all kinds of pollutants from pipe water as well as keep the healthy elements. ECAS does not filter pollutants and does not hold or accumulate them. It destroys or neutralizes any toxic compounds and makes water not only safe, but also completely potable.

ECAS solutions are completely non toxic. Injecting ECAS with active chlorine concentration of more than 600 mg/liter into chicken embryo does not cause pathologic changes and does not have an effect on brooding and growth of poults. Disinfection with ECAS can be made by wiping (surfaces in premises, equipment), immersion (dishes, clothes, spare parts etc.) and aerosol treatment (premises, containers, even in presence of people, animals, birds). After the treatment with ECAS containers, package, products etc. do not require water washing. 100% biological compliance of ECAS allows to use it for hands disinfection without any irritation or dryness of hands. After-washing with water is not required.

Unlike routinely used disinfecting and sterilizing solutions, such as glutaric aldehyde, formaldehyde, chloramine, sodium hypochlorite, dichlorizocyanurates, peracetic acid, quaternary ammonium compounds (QAC), heavy metal compounds and other synthetic biocidal substances, the active ingredients of the AQUAECA solution (Anolyte) do not belong to xenobiotic substances and produce no harmful effect on man or any other warm-blooded animals. Anolyte is an inorganic, short-lived peroxide compound that is normally synthesized in-vivo by neutrophils in the immune systems of humans and others mammals by special electrochemically-active cell enzymes. As part of the immune system’s early response to potential threats, it participates in the processes of neutralization of harmful and alien substances in the body (phagocytosis).

A metastable peroxide mixture, formed in the course of bio-electrochemical reactions in the human body and warm-blooded animals, it is the most efficient of all known means of eradicating microorganisms since it possesses a variety of spontaneously activated means to irreversibly denature vitally important functions of microorganism bio-polymers at the level of their electron transfer reactions. Even after tens of thousands of years of evolution in the highest life forms, potentially harmful microbes have failed to develop resistance to these metastable chemical systems. 

If you were already using bleach as your disinfectant of choice, switching it out for hypochlorous is very simple. If you’re using a 0.5% bleach solution (about 5,000 ppm FAC), 500pm hypochlorous acid would be a suitable replacement. At this rate, you’re getting 10% less chlorine and a disinfectant that’s been proven to be up to 80 times more effective at eradicating E. coli bacteria. We’ve created a sample chart below that shows appropriate hypochlorous acid replacements for standard bleach amounts. As you can see, the amount of hypochlorous acid you’d need is always far less.

ECAS solution is a transparent colourless liquid with a slight medical smell. The solution contains highly active oxygen compounds of chlorine. When measuring toxicity of ECAS, according to GOST 12.1007-76 it corresponds to low-toxic compounds of the 4th (the least dangerous) class of toxicity. ECAS is dissociated spontaneously after use and do not require neutralization. ECAS has a bactericidal, viricidal, sporicidal, fungicidal and deodorizing action.

Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is a neutrally charged molecule. Bacteria have negatively charged cell walls. Just like magnets, molecules with the same charge will repel each other. For example, the negatively charged molecule of bleach (OCl-) is repelled by bacterial cell walls. This is not the case with HOCl which is neutrally charged. HOCl easily penetrates bacterial cell walls. HOCl either oxidizes the cell walls killing the bacteria or enters through the cell walls and destroys the vital components inside the bacteria.

Unlike many other sanitation chemicals, hypochlorous acid does not have an ongoing antimicrobial effect. In other words, once it lands on a surface, it reacts with any germs or organic matter on that surface and then immediately deactivates. This is good and bad. It is good because it allows for sanitation without requiring a post-rinse because no toxic chemicals are left behind. The disadvantage is that it has to be continuously applied.

Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) can be used to sanitize linens. HOCl can replace toxic concentrated chemicals for cleaning and disinfecting rooms and common areas. HOCl can be applied via foggers to broadly disinfect rooms and the air. HOCl can be used in the hospital kitchen as a no-rinse sanitizer for meat, poultry, and seafood. It can be used to clean and disinfect all contact surfaces and kitchenware. HOCl can be placed throughout hospitals in dispensers for hand sanitation.

The FDA cleared hypochlorous acid per FCN 1811 to be used for the following applications at up to 60 ppm: Hypochlorous acid may may be used in processing facilities at up to 60 ppm for use in process water or ice which comes into contact with food as a spray, wash, rinse, dip, chiller water, and scalding water for whole or cut meat and poultry, including carcasses, parts, trim, and organs; in process water, ice, or brine used for washing, rinsing, or cooling of processed and pre-formed meat and poultry products as defined in 21 CFR 170.3(n)(29) and 21 CFR 170.3(n)(34), respectively; in process water or ice for washing, rinsing or cooling fruits, vegetables, whole or cut fish and seafood; and in process water for washing or rinsing shell eggs.
